Delmarva Community Transit, a division of Delmarva Community Services is the public transportation provider for Dorchester, Talbot, Kent, and Caroline counties. The transportation program grew out of the director's understanding that individuals in the agency's disability program could access the program better if transportation was provided. A van was purchased and later, as the senior program grew, more vehicles were purchased to transport seniors.
Today, DCT has grow to provide bus service to the general public with over 60 vehicles comprising our fleet. Regular fixed routes circulate throughout the towns of Cambridge and Easton as well as to and through many municipalities in all four counties. Delmarva Community Transit works in conjunction with Queen Anne County Ride and Shore Transit. Our buses transport people to work, to shopping and to the doctor and in doing so help to keep our local economy strong. Public transportation allows individuals who might otherwise be isolated find independence.
DCT also provides many specialized transportation services for people who are elderly or disabled and others who meet criteria including door to door service, medical assistance transportation, and kidney dialysis transportation.
DCT operates under the guise of The Maryland Transit Administration and operates three dispatch offices in Cambridge, Denton, and Chestertown.
