Services Offered

At the Delmarva Community Action Center, a division of Delmarva Community Services, Inc., staff work to provide poverty assistance through a variety of effective and time-tested programs.

  • Providing a local Food Pantry, where individuals or families are provided with groceries once a month, with quantities based on the size of the household.
  • Home foreclosure assistance is available to everyone regardless of income. A counselor will advise a client on how to solve financial issues that could lead to the loss of a home. First Time Home buyers may receive counseling and guidance with budgeting and financial literacy tools designed to prepare them to achieve their goal of homeownership.
  • Homeless Solutions are provided and assistance is available for short-term rental assistance.
  • Free income tax preparation is especially valuable to low-income citizens, who may not be aware of deductions to which they are entitled. It also helps them avoid unscrupulous preparers who take advantage of the poor.
  • DCS uses a 2GEN approach to service delivery. The goal is to serve the entire family and assist them in navigating roadblocks to permanent economic security.
